Industrial Pedestrian Safety Awareness Training

In 2006, more than 358 workers in Ontario, nearly one per day, was involved in one of three types of powered industrial equipment accidents including ‘struck against object’, ‘struck by object’ and ‘pedestrian struck by vehicle’. All of these accidents resulted in costly lost time claims. Hundreds of additional accidents resulted in no lost time claims. All of these accidents were avoidable.
This Industrial Pedestrian Safety Awareness program educates pedestrians on the potential hazards of walking or working in the vicinity of lift truck traffic areas.
The objective of the program is to train your employees to work safely around forklifts and other powered industrial equipment. It provides your employees with an awareness of the hazards they face and with the tools to minimize the risk of an accident. Trained pedestrians are also a benefit to equipment operators, enabling them to handle materials more safely and efficiently. Industrial Pedestrian Safety Awareness training is an important component of your company's overall comprehensive safety program.
